Dear Family/ Friends,
As you may know, I have been in Scouting since the first grade. I started as a Tiger in Cub Scouts and after nine years in scouting, I am now working on my Eagle Rank with Troop 23 in Hoover, Alabama. My final requirement to earn Eagle is to do an Eagle Project. An Eagle project requires me to plan out a project, recruit volunteers, acquire the materials, and act as the foreman of the project.
My project will be to transform a patio into a serenity area with better landscaping, pressure wash their deck and walls and build rocking benches for the ladies to relax in for a shelter called First Light for battered woman. The woman spend a lot of time outdoors and need an area where they can sit, relax and meditate. I will be improving an outdoor porch area where the woman spend a lot of their time. I am looking forward to working on my project at First Light. I have spent time cooking and serving these woman in the past years during the holiday season so that they can have a special meal.
I started planning during the end of the 2014-2015 school year and plan to have it completed in September. I expect that this project will take about 3 weekends to complete. I have created this blog so that you can follow the progress of my project.
In order to make my project a reality, I am asking for the financial support of family, friends and local businesses. I have estimated that the cost of my project will be about $1,025.96.
